Chris began his career working for Mr. Fred Hummel, FAIA, who was the State Architect under Governor Ronald Reagan and nominated a second time under Governor Pete Wilson.  Working with Mr. Hummel, Chris was involved in the project management of several notable projects such as the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and the California State University at Sacramento Master Plan.  The Master Plan was so well received by the Regents that it was made as the example for the rest of the California State University system.   Chris continued his career with several other prominent Sacramento area firms, expanding his experience in commercial, governmental and institutional projects.  He has been involved in projects ranging from churches, hotels, student dormitories, multi-story office buildings to branch banks, campus master plans and classrooms.  His clients have spanned the gambit from the U.S. Military to private Custom Home owners, large commercial home developers to private hospitals.  In 1994, he began his own practice as a sole proprietor in Reno, Nevada which allowed him to expand upon his fundamental belief that service is the most critical part of an Architect's practice.   Today, as Principal of Chris Johnson Architecture and Construction, Chris is moving forward to establish an exceptional firm noted not only for design excellence, but to be known for its outstanding service and exceptional value with a single point of contact from concept to turn key.
